Moderation, by Muhjahid Qahhar

TO LIVE IN MODERATION is easier said than done. TO NOT LIVE IN MODERATION is one of the leading causes of failure.
We have a child, by age two the whining, crying, clinging, carrying, feeding, mess control, and much more starts to wear on even the most loving parent. By the time they're six, you start to miss the two year old stage. You want to hold them again...sometimes. Truth is, the terrible twos aren't so terrible when there are two parents equally participa...

What Makes "Being a Husband" Desirable? by Muhjahid Qahhar

While sitting on my front porch taking in some fresh air, I watched a truck pass. It was run down, on its last leg. The man driving is a husband who stays a few houses down from me. He's in his early thirties. His wife pushes a brand new 25-$30,000 car. She sails past daily, windows rolled up, air conditioned, looking like new money. They have one child and earn roughly the same amount of money.
Now, I underst...

The Watcher, by Muhjahid Qahhar

The mark of a person is in how they conduct themselves when no one is watching. That, without question, is a profound truth, and knowledge is power. The more a person exposes to you, the more vulnerable they become to you. Imagine how well you could manipulate a person if you stashed hidden cameras in their private places.

While you ponder that, consider this. Our government has cameras everywhere, including the rural areas. I have, as of recently, taken notice of ...

Winged Creatures, by Muhjahid Qahhar

A bird has no fear in stepping out on a limb because all of its trust is placed in its wings. Therefore, when it is time, they shove their offspring out of the nest. It is up to the chick to spread its wings and live, or spiral to the ground and possibly die. This may seem a cruel process but it is life. Our feathered friends understand that in order to survive, they must have complete confidence in themselves, and once you achieve that you can soar to new heights. So, know who and what you are... The Illusion of Success, by Muhjahid Qahhar

It seems the higher we rise on the economic scale, the more reasons we find not to have children. The more education we garner, the more excuses we make to not have children. Really, there is a peculiar logic accompanying what is being taught to our people in college that somehow shines a positive light on black people not reproducing.

It has become acceptable for the career driven black woman or man to hold off on breeding un...

Wrong? by Muhjahid Qahhar

This may sound like somewhat of a paradox. Depending upon the circumstances, sometimes a person is allowed to even be wrong...every now and again.

If you want to be good at something, you MUST practice. Practice requires repetition. Repetition obligates you to work.

I have always been fascinated with the gunfighters of the old west; the wild wild west. How does a man become comfortable with facing off with other men in a challenge that, if the slightest mistake is made, it could cost him his life? I mean, a lot of mistakes can be made when reaching for your gun, under the pressure of life and death. Maybe it's the str...

........ just came out of Walmart. I just parked. The Asian guy and one of the white guys were carrying some type of gun that shoots what sounds like plastic pellets. As close as ten feet the guns look like authentic, chromed plated 9mms. I actually sunk down in my seat when I first spotted them, you know, with all the crazy shit going on in the world today. In the blink of an eye it can be YOUR TIME. After figuring out they were play guns, and I had to hear it shoot in order to figure that o...

I ENJOY GETTING OUT, trying new things, and experiencing different cultures. But when I pull out my wallet and look into the the eyes of a merchant I never see in my community unless they're selling me something, it just doesn't sit well with me. This sort of bartering can not be good for the future of our children. It will not build up our community.

If this was a race for survival, I would liken our spending to aiding our opponent, whose already ahead of us. Giving them bread and wat...

HOW AND WHY are different inquiries. How a person does something is a reflection of that person's SKILL. Why they do it give you an idea about the PERSON.

If we consider these principles while making the acquaintance of strangers it can help prevent a lot of heartache.

What a person wears, drives, the area they live in, and their level of success can be as mjsleading as a woman wearing booty pops.

A Monday morning jewel: be careful in measuring the heart of a person based on...
